1. Garmin still hasn’t made custom or scenic routing easy. You need a friend with a civil engineering degree at FEMA or the Forestry Service to use the software.
2. Cumbersome to get back on a pre-planned scenic route if any detour is taken.
3. Garmin’s initial software update and map upload still takes a dedicated day and usually a call to Customer Support.
